Borrowing Policies for Chatham Community: Staff & Faculty

 Loan Privileges for Staff & Faculty

Check-out Limit: 100 items (or as many items as you can keep track of at once!)

Please Note: You must be present to check out library items on your account. You cannot send someone else to the library with your ID card to check out items for you. The only exception to this is the Proxy Borrowing Service (see Proxy Borrower Account tab here).

Course Reserves Depends on the particular item – can be extended for instructor of course No renewals, unless specified by instructor.

Individual study room key 4 hours 1 (4 hour renewal)
Group study room key Loaned for duration of reservation You may extend your reservation at the Circulation Desk if the room is available.
E-Z Borrow* 12 weeks from date checked out
(2 weeks to pick up after notice is sent)
1 (4 week renewal, when available)
ILLiad* Due date set by lending library Per lending library (renew through your ILLiad account)
* The replacement and processing fees for items borrowed through E-Z Borrow or ILLiad that are lost or returned damaged are determined by the lending library.

Lost Item Replacement:

  • Item Replacement Fee**: $100
  • Processing Fee***: $25
  • Total: $125

**This is the default replacement cost for any JKM Library item. Contact the Access Services Librarian to find out if a replacement copy may be purchased. If the replacement cost of the item exceeds $100 the patron will be charged the additional amount plus the processing fee.

*** The processing fee is charged whether or not a replacement copy is accepted.

Chatham University Staff and faculty must clear their library accounts before receiving their final check. Failure to resolve any and all library charges will result in the loss of library privileges.
