I Have a Library Hold!

What is a Library Hold?

Why is there a library hold on my student account?

When you owe the library $10 or more in late fines or item replacement fees, your library account is automatically suspended and a library hold may be placed on your student account.

What does a library hold keep me from doing?

Students that have a library hold applied to their record are not eligible for:

  • registration,
  • transcripts,
  • enrollment verification,
  • diplomas, or
  • new deposits for admission or housing.

How do I know if I still have something checked out? How do I know how much I owe and for what?

You can check your library account online at: My Library Account

Please contact the Access Services Librarian directly or stop by the Circulation Desk if you have any questions.

How Do I Get the Library Hold Removed?

Please resolve this issue at the JKM Library, not at Student Accounts.

1. You need to return all overdue items or pay for lost items.

2. Pay your library fines down to $0, The JKM Library accepts:

  • cash
  • credit card for amounts of $10 or more

3. The library hold will be lifted from your student record within one to two business days.
